• At Home in House or Fields

The Hungarian or Magyar Vizsla is a versatile rust-colored all-round pointer. A loyal companion, the Vizsla’s medium build makes it ideal for hunting fowl and upland game, as well as a gentle affectionate family dog.

  • A Natural Hunter

Vizslas were bred to work in fields, forests, and bodies of water. A natural hunter endowed with an excellent nose and an outstanding trainability, Vizslas are lively with a well-developed protective instinct.

  • Well Mannered

Vizslas are high energy, well-mannered, and very affectionate. They quickly form close bonds with their owners, children, and even strangers, earning them the nickname “Velcro” dogs. Vizslas will cry or whine when they feel neglected or are otherwise unhappy.

Our Dogs

The thing we love most about our Vizslas is their ability to flip the switch from competing at trials to being cuddly lap dogs. (Even though they’re too big for our laps.) We also love that each dog has their own distinct personality; they really are like children. Of course, that can be a challenge when training them: what works for one dog doesn’t always work with another. Fortunately, our trainer, Jon & Jessica Hann from Perfection Kennels, is phenomenal, and he adjusts his training methods to help each dog to maximize their potential.
